Access for our member councils to preliminary legal advice on any Parish or Town Council related matter. This free service comprises up to 20 minutes initial telephone consultation per enquiry and a follow up email to confirm the advice provided. Advice is provided to member councils when they are referred to Wellers Hedleys by the County Association. This provides us with an opportunity to screen the enquiry before referring it.
All of the professional advice is provided by a qualified solicitor specialising in Town and Parish Council law and copied to the County Association for reference. Where more detailed advice is required, or a matter becomes complex, Wellers Hedleys will provide the Council with a written quotation for this work on a case by case basis. Whilst their solicitors have an allocated hourly charge out rate they try, wherever possible, to agree a fixed fee charge for our work at the outset.
Wellers Hedleys is one of the only law firms in England and Wales to provide legal services for all local council matters. We work with many Parish, Town and Community Councils. We have an excellent working relationship with national and county associations, where we complement their advice service.
