Town and village centres of shops, local services, pubs and restaurants have long been a main source of community identity and pride. But market trends and national policy in recent years have made change more unpredictable and manageable. Neil will share his experiences of how local councils in urban and rural areas have tried to tackle this from a planning perspective.
