Applications are invited for the position of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to manage the administration, personnel and finances of Burnham Parish Council. This large parish council comprises 19 councillors, a team of c.15 staff and significant assets. It has a budget c.£1m and the General Power of Competence. Applicants must be CiLCA qualified and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role. The post includes regular evening and some weekend work. The successful applicant will be a highly-motivated and forward-thinking individual who can lead a large team and promote the interests of the community by forging strong local partnerships. They will manage the statutory obligations of the Council, including its financial responsibilities. They must be an excellent communicator with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, combined with strong commercial and financial management. The job is office based.
