Dear Clerks and Councillors

Clerks please circulate to your Councillors!

Yes I know I’m a little early this week, but bear with me.  I received information this morning from Jeff Smart at CloudyIT of two free seminars around IT and best practice including hybrid working.  As the first is tomorrow, I wanted to let you know straight away so you could sign up if you were interested. Details follow at the end of this email.

Milton Keynes Council commences it’s metamorphosis to Milton Keynes City Council following it’s prestigious change in status.   Our young people, or their parents and sponsors,  will be pleased to know that On Wednesday 29 June, the Mercure Milton Keynes Hotel will host a FREE event aimed at young people aged 16-25 who are not yet in employment, education, or training.  Created by MK Council, the Young People’s Opportunities Fair will bring together 18 organisations from across the city. Visitors can drop in to learn about work experience, traineeships and apprenticeships as well as education and local job opportunities.

I’m delighted to issue a HOLD THE DATE notice for Tuesday the 25th of October 2022.  Our annual BMKALC conference is back and will be an in person event at The Oculus, The Gate Way Conference Centre, Gatehouse Rd, Aylesbury HP19 8FF.  Our theme for this year is Climate Change and how we as Parish, Town and Community Councils can act and influence our environments.  We will also be utilising the market space area, where our sponsors will be available for longer discussions.  Lorraine and Helen are busy lining up key speakers all with practical solutions that we can implement and adopt.  If you have seen anyone particularly inspirational who understands our sector, please get in touch and let us know.
