Kingsbrook Parish Council – Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer
Salary: SCP range 18-23, £31,537 to £34,434 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. including/plus attendance at evening meetings and some council events.
Location: Home based and throughout the parish

Kingsbrook Parish Council is seeking a motivated, professional and community-minded Parish Clerk and RFO to join this growing and thriving local council.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professionally qualified clerk with strong administrative experience who enjoys varied work, takes pride in accuracy and organisation, and is keen to contribute and work within the community.
About the Role
As the Parish Clerk and Proper Officer responsible to the full council, you will carry out all the statutory duties and functions required by law of a local authority’s proper officer, responsible for administration and governance of council business. Your work will range from handling enquiries, supporting council and committee meetings, and maintaining records, to event administration, project work and community initiatives.
You will be a key point of contact for residents and councillors. The role also includes attending some evening meetings and parish events, for which overtime or time off in lieu will be offered.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate:
- Strong experience in high-level administrative work
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- Willingness to attend occasional evening meetings and events
- Knowledge of local councils with the Certificate in Local Council Administration qualification
Experience working in a Parish Council or other local government organisation is desirable.
