Thornborough Parish Council – Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer Vacancy
Thornborough Parish Council is looking for a replacement for the outgoing Clerk who is retiring in May. The Clerk supports a Parish Council of 7 to ensure the Council is able to operate legally and efficiently in serving the community.
The Role
• Governance: Advise on statutory requirements to facilitate lawful decision-making.
• Finance: Manage budgets, payments, and lead the annual audit.
• Administration: Draft agendas, record minutes, and manage council records.
• Communication: Act as the public point of contact and manage the website and social media. Key Requirements
• Experience: Strong background in office management and bookkeeping.
• IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft 365 and digital communications.
• Attributes: Highly organized, diplomatic, able to work both independently on own initiative and as part of team.
• Flexibility: Must be available for evening meetings and occasional weekends.
Training and Development Training will be funded for candidates with strong transferable skills.
