The Society of Local Council Clerks’ Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Branch brings together clerks from across the area on a quarterly basis to share knowledge, discuss key issues, and support one another. Our meetings provide a safe and supportive space for clerks to raise concerns, exchange experiences, and benefit from peer-to-peer training.
We work collaboratively to address matters of common interest, including lobbying on legislation or policy changes with the relevant unitary authorities where a collective approach is needed. While meetings are formal in purpose, they are held in a relaxed, friendly, and welcoming environment—complete with tea, coffee, and time to chat.
Each meeting features guest speakers on a range of topics, offering valuable insight, professional development, and training opportunities for our members.
We warmly welcome all clerks who are members of the SLCC to join the branch and become part of a wider professional group and support network. If you are not currently a member—or if your council does not yet support SLCC membership—we strongly encourage you to make the case for joining. SLCC membership is an invaluable resource, providing essential guidance, support, and development to help you succeed in your role as a clerk.
To join the Buckinghamshire Branch you need to be a member of the SLCC. The SLCC notifies the branches of new members and you automatically then get included in any information disseminated from the branch.
We have four meetings a year in March, June, September and December.
