Goodbye electoral year 2022 -23 and welcome 2023 – 24!

Dear Clerks

Please circulate to all Councillors

Here we are, one third of the way through the year.  Goodbye electoral year 2022 -23 and welcome 2023 – 24!

This week I have enjoyed spending time with Wing PC and Wooburn and Bourne End PC reminded once again of all the fabulous work that takes place in our patch.  A number of us enjoyed an excellent presentation of the value and use of a well written report.  There was also NALC’s presentation on Community Resilience and Emergency Planning, which Helen attended on our behalf.

Last night 71 people joined us on a Teams presentation outlining and welcoming the new Buckinghamshire Highways partnership.  There are ambitious plans and we all welcome an improvement on both response and repairs that should result.  Discussions on the devolution plans should start in May.

Next week is a short week and you’ll all undoubtably be look forward to it.  Helping you get through those last working days though will be Mike Deegan who will be sharing tips and skills on how to  Generate External Funding.  It’s also membership renewal week, your membership letter and a form asking you to update your information will be dropping through your email box together with an invoice for your subscription.  We do now show the number of the electors and the rate per elector with two separate lines for BMKALC’s element and then the NALC element which we collect on their behalf.  We do appreciate your prompt payment and to ask if you could remember to note the invoice number in the reference or on the back of cheques.

You’ll appreciate that there will be no “View” on Good Friday, but be assured if anything exciting comes our way we’ll share it will you!  Till then enjoy a restful weekend, a fabulous relaxing Easter Break and we look forward to talking to you soon.

Kind regards Mel, Helen and Lorraine
