Session 2 – Budget and Precept Setting for Councillors 

An overview of the current guidance and ideas about the key principles and strategies about setting a budget in uncertain times.

This session is aimed at Councillors who want to make sense of the budget process.

  • Know hints, tips and ideas from other councils who got it right (and wrong!)
  • Know how to make best use of the proprietary software packages if used

Course Tutor: 

Eleanor Greene ICPA is a senior accountant at Do The Numbers Ltd has been auditing Parish Councils since 1997. Eleanor was the Company Secretary of Hampshire ALC ten years and is now Secretary of the Hampshire SLCC branch, so keeps constantly up to date with sector developments.

Running time:   90 minutes approximately depending on Q&A
